Logitech has announced two new Ultimate Ears Bluetooth speakers. EU Blast and EU Megablast have 360-degree sound, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection, and integration with Alexa, a virtual assistant to Amazon. When connected to the Internet, speakers can respond to more than 25,000 voice commands, including control of devices with smart home technology and access to the catalog of services such as TuneIn, iHeartRadio and Amazon Music, whereas Deezer and Pandora will join the platform in the near future. In addition, you can play music from any other streaming service via Bluetooth.

The boxes arrive first in the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Austria in October. The Blast version, which is smaller and less powerful, will have a suggested price of $229.99 and Megablast is $299.99.

While being able to conduct searches and control products with smart home technology, such as launches such as Google Home Max and Apple HomePod, the new Ultimate Ears are focused on mobility. Both versions maintain features already seen in the EU Megaboom and EU Wonderboom, such as the waterproof design, which allows them to be submerged for up to 30 minutes, compact size and long-lasting batteries.

The Blast version has dimensions of 188 x 68 mm. The battery is Li-ion that, according to Logitech, guarantees up to 12 hours of playback, depending on usage. The maximum sound range is 90dB and the frequency response is 90Hz to 10KHz. It also has two active 35mm drivers and two passive 81mm x 39mm radiators. All this should ensure high sound, with well-defined bass and treble.

However, Megablast is even more powerful. The maximum sound range is 93 dB, while the frequency is 60 Hz to 20 KHz. In addition, it features two tweeters (25mm), two active drivers (55mm) and two passive radiators (85mm x 50mm).

That is, the promise here is sound, not only higher but also significantly better defined. The battery also makes handsome, with a maximum duration of 16 hours per charge. In contrast, the size is larger, with dimensions of 237 mm x 88 mm.

The two boxes will be marketed in six colors: black, white, blue, red, green and yellow. Accompanying the launch, Logitech also brings to the market the Power UP, wireless charger compatible with the boxes and will be sold separately for $39.99.

If you are interested in getting one of these speakers, then you will have to log onto the company’s website in order to know as to when they will be launching it in your region. There aren’t too many 3rd-party devices that come with Alexa support, but Logitech has made sure that its new speakers are powered by Alexa.
